Journey Into: Yoga Poses Photographed for a Practice App

Journey Into came to me with an ambitious brief: a full library of yoga pose photography, captured in a single studio day, to guide students building a consistent, inspired home practice through the app. Working with their teaching team, I photographed over 100 clearly lit, editorial grade poses, each one styled, aligned and directed to read clearly as a visual reference rather than a lifestyle shot.
Twenty years of my own yoga practice sits behind that pace. I can spot a misaligned hip, an unsupported spine or a held breath from behind the camera, which is what lets a shoot like this move fast without the poses losing their truth. The set stayed genuinely joyful, real laughter between takes, a shared rhythm with the teachers that made the work feel effortless rather than clinical. The result is a library that reads as consistent across a hundred images, built to serve an app, an editorial spread or a brand campaign, and to hold up at speed as well as in a single still.
