The light in Bermuda doesn’t just shine, it glows, it wraps, it moves. There’s a kind of poetry to it, especially in the final hour of the day, when the world slips into gold and the clouds bloom like soft brushstrokes overhead. That’s where Kallie Marcus and I found ourselves, barefoot on sand, wrapped in breeze, chasing light and letting movement unfold. Kallie’s energy is deeply rooted. With a background in gymnastics, dance and aerial yoga, she moves with purpose, every shape tells a story. We didn’t storyboard. We didn’t over-direct. We trusted. She led me to a quiet cove known only to locals, the kind of place you’d never find unless you’d grown up breathing in this island.

We had maybe forty minutes. But when you’re in sync, it’s all you need. Each frame became a collaboration, light meeting motion, breath meeting camera. The images we created don’t just show movement. They feel like it. You can see the ocean breeze in her limbs, the sunset’s hush on her skin, the freedom in her spine as she suspends in mid-air. This is how I work. I chase light.
