Yoga Photographer Capturing Soulful, Honest Portraits

Responsive Line

There are some collaborations that span decades. My work with Jean Hall is one of those rare creative kinships, rooted in friendship, trust, and a shared love of slow, soulful yoga. Jean taught me yoga over 25 years ago. Back then, I was a rebellious 20-something with a shaved head and a curious mind. She thought I looked scary. I thought she was the calm in the storm. What’s evolved over time is more than a working relationship, it’s a sisterhood. Each photo you see of Jean across her website, retreat brochures or yoga teacher portraits has been taken by me. We’ve worked together across seasons, in city studios and nature, capturing her grounded, Buddhist-informed practice, one that mirrors the breath rather than the ego. Jean isn’t interested in the performative side of yoga. Neither am I. What drives me as a yoga photographer in London is connection. The way the light falls when someone’s truly in their body. A teacher who has lived their practice. These images don’t shout. They hum.

This kind of photography isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about creating honest, useful, beautiful content for your yoga marketing or wellbeing brand, portraits that feel as natural as your teaching style, and as real as the life you lead off the mat. If you're looking for yoga instructor photos, retreat photography or soulful yoga teacher portraits, I’d love to capture your story, too.
