Rugby is hands down my favourite sport to photograph. It’s fast, it’s fierce and full of moments where raw emotion meets physical power. I was commissioned by Rugby Journal to shoot Jasmine Joyce at the Welsh Rugby Union training camp. It was a chance to go beyond the action and capture something more intimate, the strength behind the athlete, and the personality beyond the performance. Jaz is a force on the field, known for her speed and fearless energy. But off it? She’s humble, warm, and softly spoken. That contrast is what inspired this shoot. I wanted to reflect the grit that’s made her one of the UK’s top players, alongside her quiet determination and openness. These are the layered stories I love to tell.
