Ballet Meets Nature in Soulful Editorial

Responsive Line

Working with Ambra Vallo, former principal ballerina of the Birmingham Royal Ballet, was like stepping into a living sculpture. This editorial for Draze Magazine invited us to explore the deep, often unseen connections between ballet, yoga, and the natural world. Ambra's story, her transformation from stage to mat, from performance to presence was the inspiration behind the concept.

As a commercial and lifestyle photographer, I’m always seeking the layers beneath a person’s movement. I don’t just want to capture a pose, I want to catch that invisible moment in between, where truth lives. With Ambra, every breath was choreography. We shot in a natural environment where she physically and energetically melted into the tree roots, an embodiment of how we’re all part of nature’s cycles. What I loved most was the quiet power in her transitions. One moment a dancer, the next a yogi, then simply a human, grounding in the forest. It reminded me why I shoot what I shoot, to reflect back the stories of resilience, transformation and soul-led living. Whether I’m working with athletes, brands, or wellness leaders, my aim is to photograph from the inside out. To show movement, not as spectacle, but as a language of healing and power. This is creative photography for clients who want more than beautiful pictures. It’s for those who want connection, who want their story told with depth, grace, and a touch of magic. Whether you're building a brand, launching a campaign, or sharing your personal evolution, if it moves you, I want to photograph it.
