Studio portraits that honour
practice, philosophy & presence

Responsive Line

There’s something powerful about photographing someone like Genny Wilkinson-Priest. Her presence is steady, intelligent, and filled with a quiet curiosity that asks you to look beyond the physical shape of a pose. That’s what this shoot was all about creating portraits that reflect not just her practice, but the years of study, experience and thought that inform it. Genny’s deep roots in Ashtanga Yoga, paired with her background as a journalist and editor, mean she carries both clarity and complexity. In the studio, we kept things pared back and intentional. Simple light, neutral tones, quiet shadows. Nothing forced, nothing posed for the sake of performance, just Genny, present in her body and voice.

There’s a moment between frames, when the breath settles and the teacher becomes simply a person, it’s that moment I’m always waiting for. That’s when the real magic happens. I photograph yoga teachers, wellness creatives and movement professionals who need more than just pretty pictures. You’re sharing knowledge, guiding people through transformation, and offering something meaningful. Your portraits should reflect that. Whether you're building a new site, launching a programme, or just need images that feel true to who you are, I create work that balances professionalism with a sense of soul. This shoot reminds me why I do what I do. It’s about honouring your voice, your practice and your presence with imagery that truly sees you.
