Swim Photography with
Storytelling in Focus

One of the beautiful things about travel is how it refreshes your perspective, like wiping the canvas clean and seeing with new eyes. Bermuda has this incredible quality of light that’s hard to describe until you’re there. It’s surrounded by water, and that reflects in the air, soft, bright, full of colour and contrast. Shooting the Bermuda Sharks Swim Team here wasn’t just about sport, but about the atmosphere that shaped it: turquoise water, bold skies, and a community with purpose in every stroke.

The Sharks Swim Club is one of Bermuda’s most successful teams, and it shows. You feel the discipline, the unity, the joy in motion. Photographing them at the National Stadium pool meant tuning into a rhythm, the starts, the turns, the rest between sets. There’s an honesty to swim photography that I love: skin meets water, effort meets light. These moments live in the in-between and that’s where the story is. It’s not just about documenting performance; it’s about capturing what it feels like to be there, in it, part of it.
