the Power of Fitness Portraits
With Urban Energy

Responsive Line

There’s something electric about photographing where the edges blur, where yoga meets the heartbeat of the streets. This Southbank shoot with Claire Missingham brought exactly that. Shot under graffiti-laced tunnels near London’s riverside, the environment was bold, raw, and unapologetically urban, an unexpected but perfect backdrop to capture Claire’s duality: part spiritual teacher, part rebel mover. As a senior yoga educator with deep ties to the Krishnamacharya lineage and a new affiliation with Run Dem Crew, Claire doesn’t just teach yoga, she lives it in rhythm with the world around her. What I wanted to reflect was how she embodies this contrast. Grace in motion, stillness in energy. We played with dynamic running shots, improvised flow sequences, and shapes held strong against textured walls, all using natural light, minimal gear, and instinctual movement. It was fast-paced, spontaneous, and deeply intuitive, just like the fusion of yoga and street running itself.

This kind of work fuels me. My style leans into soulfulness, but it’s backed with a strong commercial eye, whether I’m photographing professional athletes, yoga teachers or dynamic brand campaigns. I don’t just shoot what’s happening in front of me, I tune into what drives it. For brands or creators looking to capture movement that means something, this is the kind of energy I bring. It's not just a fitness shoot, it's a portrait of power, purpose, and connection. Whether you're a commissioner, art director, or independent founder, I offer a blend of technical skill, vision, and emotional authenticity. Let’s make imagery that moves, literally and emotionally.
