How Photographing Saracens Women Changed My Creative Vision

Photographing Saracens Women’s Rugby was a true “eureka” moment for me as a photographer. It was more than just shooting powerful athletes in action, it was about seeing and sharing the women I had always wanted to capture. From the moment I started working with the team, I realised this was the representation I’d been searching for. They engaged with the camera in a way I hadn’t witnessed before; they owned who they were, what they do, and what they represent. The Saracens radiated confidence, strength, and a bond that felt unbreakable. In every frame, when they looked directly into the camera, they offered a raw authenticity that was both empowering and inspiring. It was a privilege to witness how they supported each other and pushed each other to new heights, all while remaining humble and grounded.

This series was about more than just capturing action; it was about telling a story of women’s empowerment, resilience, and the strength that comes from sport. The final images were exhibited at the Kensington and Chelsea Art Show.
