Sarah Thompson: Studio Photography for Five Feathers Yoga
Personal brand photography for yoga and wellness founders
Sarah Thompson is the founder of Five Feathers, a yoga and movement brand built on sustainability, craftsmanship and integrity. This personal brand shoot was built around her own practice rather than a product: shot in studio in black and white and colour, using a feather as a recurring prop and motif, held, worn as a headdress, close to her face, echoing the brand's own name.
The strength is what carries these images rather than styling. A wheel pose held with her hair mid motion, a full front split along the studio floor, a forward fold with her hands locked around the feather: nothing here is a static headshot, every frame is her body doing the work a yoga practice actually asks of it, photographed at the moment of full extension rather than eased into after. Three of the five images are printed in black and white, the other two in colour, a deliberate split that lets the graphic shapes of the poses read as sculpture in monochrome, and lets the feather itself read as texture where colour is kept.
