Haringey Box Cup Boxing Photographer

Feel the Fight: Between the ropes, emotion leads the frame

As a boxing and sports photographer in London, I’m drawn to the moments that sit just outside the obvious: the tension before the bell, the anticipation in the body, and the space that holds the punch.

The legendary Haringey Box Cup is one of Europe’s largest and most respected amateur boxing tournaments. It’s the kind of arena where boxing greats like Anthony Joshua, Katie Taylor, and Nicola Adams once made their mark before going on to conquer the world stage. I went with a very intentional lens. I wanted to feel into the atmosphere, not just observe it. My approach was to embrace the imperfect, letting go of any overreaching technical control, like visual poetry that’s unafraid to trip over its own feet. I sought out the intimacy, emotion and anticipation that lives between the ropes, the sweat, the stillness and sparks before a storm.

For brands, editorial teams, gyms and organisations looking for a boxing photographer, the value is not just in recording action, but in making pictures that hold attention and stay with people across editorial, campaign and digital spaces. In a time when so much visual culture is polished to the point of sameness, I believe the raw, honest frame still carries the most power.
