My job as a lifestyle and commercial photographer was to honour that, with gentle composition, natural light and the patience to capture the in between: the glance, the lean in, the calm tension in the space between a hand and a muzzle. Her horses aren't props, they're partners, and that's what makes these equine portraits so powerful. Whether working on the ground or walking quietly alongside, Fay brings a soulful, ceremonial quality to her interactions.
